IFC viewer – fast, private, offline

Open even large IFC models directly in the browser. Parsing and rendering run on your device; files are never uploaded and never leave your machine.

No account, no upload. Open a model from disk (several files at once) or drag .ifc file(s) anywhere onto the window. Server models, DXF exports, coordination (BCF), checking (IDS) and the AI assistant are unlocked by signing in to IFC manager.

Note: the model is parsed and rendered right in your browser, so the maximum openable model size depends on your computer's performance and memory — on a weaker machine a large model may load slowly or fail to open. Very large models are unlocked by server streaming after signing in to IFC manager.

What the viewer can do

Load any IFC

Open from disk or by drag & drop — several files at once. IFC 2x3 / 4 / 4x3. Files stay with you.

Model federation

View and manage several models at once - toggle visibility and detach, shared coordinate base.

Element selection and properties

Click an element to see attributes and property sets; other elements dim (ghosting) and the selected one is highlighted.

Storey control

Storey list by elevation, aggregated across models. Show, hide or isolate a chosen storey.

Spatial structure tree

Browse the IFC structure (Project→Building→Storey→Space) in three modes; select and hide elements.

Floor plan and rooms

Corner window with a plan section, labels and a room list with areas; the window can be enlarged.

Sections and coordinates

Horizontal and vertical section cuts with sliders and read-out of IFC coordinates of the clicked point.

Measurement

Measure edges, lengths, areas and volume by clicking in the model; values show right in 3D and can be exported to Excel.

Technology and privacy

Opens IFC models (versions 2x3 / 4 / 4x3) - the standard BIM format; loading is handled by the web-ifc library right in the browser, no install.
Everything runs in your browser - opening the model, 3D display and measuring happen on your computer, works offline and files are never uploaded.
Floor-plan drawing to DXF (for CAD) is assembled by the server with its own app (Python: ifcopenshell + ezdxf) - your data never leaves your network.
Anonymous traffic - when used without signing in, the viewer sends one body-less record. The server resolves only an approximate country, region and city from the IP locally; it does not store the actual IP or call an external geolocation service.

Add IFC viewing to your platform

Embed the same viewer into your CDE, digital twin or internal project tools as a component. You load the IFC bytes from your own app - parsing and rendering stay on the browser side.

IFC manager — everything the IFC viewer has, and more

A fast offline viewer plus server models, drawings, coordination and quality checking on top — complete IFC work in one place.

It includes the whole IFC viewer: model federation, element selection and properties, storey control, spatial structure tree, floor plan and rooms, sections and measuring — all offline in the browser. And on top of that:

On top of the viewer

Models from the server

Authorized access to project IFC models via IFC Access — open and federate straight from the server.

DXF export

Plain line DXF and a standard drawing (ISO 5457) at 1:100 scale with a corner title block.

Coordination (BCF)

Issues and defects in the BCF 2.1/3.0 standard — viewpoints, comments, workflow and .bcfzip import/export.

Checking (IDS)

Authoring editor of information requirements (buildingSMART IDS 1.0.0) and validation of the open model with a report.

AI assistant

Read-only questions about the model: finding elements, properties, summaries and room lists. It never changes the model.

Coordination and issue tracking (BCF)

A separate coordination layer on top of the viewer. Raise issues and defects straight from the model view, save spatial bookmarks (viewpoints), keep comments and drive task states through a configurable workflow. All in the BCF 2.1 / 3.0 standard, fully in the browser - the model is identified via IFC GlobalId.

Issues from the model view Viewpoint = spatial bookmark Workflow, roles and due dates Import / export .bcfzip
COORDINATION FLOW
  1. Set the view, select an element, make a cut
  2. “Create issue” → viewpoint + snapshot
  3. Add priority, assignee and due date
  4. A colleague opens the topic → “Show in model” restores the view
  5. Comments and status change (workflow)
  6. Export to .bcfzip for other BCF apps

Authoring information requirements (IDS)

An authoring editor of information requirements on top of the viewer. Build specifications with applicability and requirements, define facets (entity, attribute, property, classification, material) and run checking of the open model with a “passes N/M” overview. All in the buildingSMART IDS 1.0.0 standard, fully in the browser.

Applicability + requirements Facets per IDS 1.0.0 “Passes N/M” checking Import / export .ids · HTML/BCF report
IDS documentation
CHECKING FLOW
  1. Create a specification and its applicability
  2. Add requirements via facets (entity, property, …)
  3. Save .ids (buildingSMART 1.0.0) or import an existing one
  4. Load the model and run the check
  5. Review “passes N/M” for each requirement
  6. Export the report to HTML or BCF
